As well as, in October 2024, the COST action proposal OC-2024-1-28176 “Academic Migrations: Intersectional Insights into Personal Lives, Institutions, Policies, and Knowledge Production” was jointly prepared.
WG6 members have also actively participated in conferences. In September 2024 WG6 member Jennifer Dahmen-Adkins (RWTH Aachen University, Germany) (see pictures) attended the European Evaluation Biennial Conference – Better Together: Thinking and acting together for better evaluation, which took place in Rimini/Italy. In her presentation “A Meta-Perspective on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Coordination in Gender Equality Projects” she reflected on how factors such as power, culture and management styles influence evaluation outcomes, with a focus on European-funded projects. Her presentation was part of the session “The Evaluation of Structural Gender Change in European Higher Education” organised by Maria Bustelo (Complutense University of Madrid, Spain). It is envisaged that the session papers will be the subject of a special issue of a journal which has a focus on evaluation.
In October 2024 WG6 members Dr. Liva Grinevica and Spec.sci. Nikolina Misnic participated with the presentation “Comparison of gender equality policy and its impact on women in Latvia and Montenegro” in the International Scientific Conference “Trends in Regional Development in the EU Countries 2024” organized by Warsaw University of Life Sciences in cooperation with Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Latvian Academy of Sciences, Latvian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and Nordic Assoiciation of Agricultural Sciences. In the presentation, it was emphasized that education gives the opportunity to be equal, and through education, women can get opportunities to change these restrictive conditions that they have to face in Latvia and Montenegro.
