We’re excited to announce an upcoming international event focused on shaping gender equality in science and research, organized by Dr. Rakibe Külcür (WG6) and hosted by Izmir University of Economics (IEU) in Türkiye. The two-day conference, taking place on January 20-21, 2025, brings together leading experts and researchers from across Europe to address critical issues in gender equality within academia.

The event features an impressive lineup of speakers including Associate Professor Anne-Sophie Godfroy from France, Dr. Jennifer Dahmen-Adkins from Germany, and Associate Professor Victoria Showunmi from the UK. Day one will explore crucial topics such as implementing Gender Equality Plans (GEPs), integrating gender perspectives in EU research, and examining global challenges for women in STEM careers.

Day two offers hands-on experience through co-creation workshops and mentoring sessions for early-career researchers. A particular highlight will be the case study presentation on advancing gender equality at IEU, followed by an engaging round table discussion on lived experiences in academia.

Whether you’re a researcher, academic, or professional interested in promoting gender equality in science and research, this hybrid event offers valuable insights and networking opportunities. The morning session of day one will be available both in-person and online, while day two’s activities will be conducted entirely in-person at IEU.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation shaping the future of gender equality in academic and research environments.
